When you think of a 3-in-1 cleanser, what setting do you picture it in? It's okay, you can say it with me: 3-2-1… frat shower.
A Le Labo multipurpose cleanser, on the other hand? It’s giving effortless chic, not laziness. While the New York-based perfumer has entire separate body, hair, and face collections that feature plenty of great, created-for-a-singular-purpose products, their new All-in-One Cleanser ($42) is marking its own special place in the family—and maybe convincing us to throw out a couple bottles along the way.
Catering to your "hair, body, face, and soul" (a much better marketing line than simply "shampoo/body wash/bubble bath"), the product was first introduced this fall as part of Le Labo's new grooming collection.
"Discover the ultimate in multi-purpose personal care, and elevate your grooming ritual with the unrivaled quality and sophistication," says the brand of the product.

The Inspiration
What if one product could be everything for you? That's the idea behind this cleanser—crafted to tackle your hair, body, face, and soul (!)—as it fits into your bathing routine. No, it's not an all-in-one for everything (my favorite serums and lip oils still feel right at home in my cabinet) but, if used according to plan, it does cut down on unnecessary overconsumption.
"Le Labo's All-In-One-Cleanser caters to the modern individual seeking convenience without compromising on quality, ethics, or fragrance," says the brand. "This product is not just a cleanser; it's a holistic experience that speaks to the essence of self-care."
The simply-named cleanser is part of Le Labo’s new men’s grooming line, which was created as “an ode to old-world, traditional Americana barbershops” and also features a Multi-Purpose Balm ($23) (there’s a theme here), Deodorant ($37), Shaving Cream ($44), After-Shave Balm ($44), Face Lotion ($49), Beard Oil ($68), and Styling Concentrate ($37).
The Formula
The cleanser's versatile formula features aloe and a "harmonious blend of botanical extracts" to do its job gently yet effectively. Gel-like in texture, this liquid soap sudses extremely well whether you're using a loofah or your bare hands—offering a velvety texture that leaves your skin feeling much the same.
Fresh and cool, its signature scent (which is also utilized in the rest of the grooming line) features bergamot and lavender edged with violet and tonka bean. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, and free of artificial colorants, parabens, phthalates, and SLS/SLES.
"Each use is an aromatic journey that elevates your cleansing routine to a luxurious sensory experience," shares Le Labo.
How to Use It
I don't have to tell you anything you don't already know when it comes to this cleanser. Simply wet your skin or hair, lather, and rinse wherever you need cleaning—your scalp, body, and face are all fair game.
My Review
Regarding my beauty cabinet, I'm a maximalist through and through. No, I won't use just anything on my face and body, and I do know that less is often more during application, but I like to have a selection of my favorites on hand so I can decide what feels best in the moment. What moisturizer will it be tonight, a gel or a cream? That kind of thing.
So, committing to a 3-in-1 for a few weeks was… a tough sell. Thank goodness it was this 3-in-1.
Le Labo All-In-One Cleanser $42.00
The most important thing I can tell you is that this cleanser left me feeling clean, doing its job properly for my hair, face, and body in general. Like everything Le Labo makes, it also smells divine. And while it was a treat to smell while sudsing up, it didn’t leave an overpowering aroma after the fact—just a nice, subtle reminder that I was clean and do not live in a frat house.
I first tested it on my face and—although the right-next-to-the-nose smell was a bit intense for my taste while scrubbing—it left my skin soft and not at all tight. Blessedly, I have zero breakouts to report. While also great as a body wash, I was surprised to discover that shampoo was my favorite use for the soap. It might just be my hair type (fine but lots of it with a slight wave), but my strands felt exceptionally shiny, soft, and clean.
My one complaint? Having to transport the bottle from the shower to the sink for my evening face wash on nights I wasn't rinsing off entirely. Maybe you have to snag two? If that defeats the point, forgive me.
